Improving Access to Lifesaving Care for Small Babies in Zambia: Samuel’s Story

Born too soon, Samuel's survival seemed uncertain. Healthcare workers trained and equipped to care for small newborns worked to save his life. His mother practiced Kangaroo Mother Care, which helped stabilize his temperature, reduce stress on his fragile body and strengthen his immunity to infection. This story shows the impact of Save the Children's Integrated Maternal, Newborn and Child Health and Nutrition project in Mongu district in Zambia.
